طه المكاوىAl-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, expressed his great welcome to the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, considering this step an important development towards ending the war of genocide and military escalation that has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people and caused grave human suffering to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, calling on all parties to fully abide by the terms of the agreement, and continue to work on calm to avoid any new escalation, stressing the need to respect international humanitarian laws, protect civilians and ensure that urgent humanitarian aid reaches the Gaza Strip. The Speaker of the Arab Parliament also praised the tireless and great efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, highly appreciating their role in stopping the escalation and the war of genocide and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, stressing that these efforts reflect the commitment of the Arab countries to the Palestinian cause and their keenness to achieve security and stability in the region, calling for the continuation of these efforts to stabilize the calm and work to launch a just and comprehensive peace process leading to the end of the occupation and the establishment of a state. Al-Yamahi called on the international community, the Security Council, the countries of the free world and international and regional parliaments to assume their responsibilities towards the Palestinian cause, and to support Arab efforts to enable the Palestinian Authority to manage the Gaza Strip, contribute to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and provide the necessary humanitarian assistance to those affected.
Al-Yamahi added that the Arab Parliament, since the war of genocide against the Palestinian people, has not hesitated to continue its parliamentary and diplomatic efforts in order to end the war in Gaza and end the suffering of our Palestinian brothers, reaffirming the continuation of the efforts of the Arab Parliament and its firm support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of its independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the right of return of Palestinian refugees, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
